Mission Statement
Recognizing that we are all children of God, our mission is to serve the children of Notre Maison/St. Joe's by providing opportunities for their development spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally, morally and by preparing them to live as independently as possible.
As followers of Christ, we are called to follow the teachings of Jesus. One of Jesus' first teaching was the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5-7. At this point, Jesus has been preaching the good news of His kingdom and urging his people to repent. The sermon starts with the beatitudes, describing the characteristics of the righteous that will inherit the kingdom of the Lord (Matthew 5:1-12).
Our council member Sheri Funderburk took these beatitudes and adopted them for our special needs children. Below is the beautiful version of Sheri's beatitudes for our children, proclaiming that they too will inherit the Kingdom of the Lord.

Blessed are these special children, for they are God's children, specially chosen to teach of His love, compassion, and mercy.
Blessed are those children who are abandoned, for they shall be cared for, comforted, and raised as beloved children of God.
Blessed are those who cannot control their bodies, for they shall find joy in learning to do small things.
Blessed are those who cannot see, for they shall experience God's world in different ways and see beauty within others.
Blessed are those who cannot speak, for they shall learn other ways to communicate and be understood.
Blessed are those who are mentally challenged, for they shall be included in our community and find a away to serve God and others.
Blessed are those who support and care for these special children, for they shall act as the loving hands of Jesus.
