Program Details
Music is a huge part of Haitian culture, and Notre Maison/St. Joe's does its best to incorporate music into the lives of the children living at the orphanages. In the spring of 2013, we were able to purchase two conga drums through the generous donations of the Gainesville Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). This same organization also provided funds for other music materials. Currently, the music program operates via Skype, and the children of Notre Maison/St. Joe's share their music with the students at the Sidney Lanier Center in Gainesville, FL. The Florida portion of the program is run by Dr. Donald DiVito while the Haitian portion of the program is run by orphanage staff and interns.
